Cavaliers' Forward Isaac Okoro (shoulder) to Miss Minimum of Two Weeks
The Cleveland Cavaliers are projected to be without small forward Isaac Okoro for more than a fortnight due to a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder.
Okoro sustained the injury during the third quarter of Monday's 130-101 triumph on the road against the Brooklyn Nets. He played for 20 minutes and scored 12 points.
The team plans to reassess the injury around the start of the new year.
Renowned for his defensive skills, Okoro has contributed to Cleveland's impressive 23-4 record. He has started in 16 of the 23 games he has played and has averaged 6.6 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 21.0 minutes per game.
The Cavaliers selected Okoro as the fifth overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft from Auburn. The 23-year-old has averaged 8.4 points and 2.8 rebounds in 302 career games (232 starts). He recently signed a three-year, $38 million contract extension with Cleveland.
