According to ESPN, Dallas Mavericks guard Dante Exum recently underwent wrist surgery and will be sidelined for three months.

The surgery, which took place on Tuesday, was necessary after Exum injured his wrist during a training camp workout.

While the Mavericks have not officially addressed the Australian player's injury, they did share a photo of him on social media with a message wishing him a speedy recovery.

Last season, Exum, who previously played in Europe for two years, averaged 7.8 points and 2.9 assists in 55 games (17 starts) for the Mavericks. However, he missed a significant portion of the season due to foot and knee injuries.

The 29-year-old was drafted fifth overall in 2014 by the Utah Jazz and has since played for the Cleveland Cavaliers before joining the Mavericks. Throughout his career, he has averaged 6.1 points and 2.2 assists in 300 games (89 starts).

Exum also missed an entire season in 2015-16 due to a knee injury.

The Mavericks will kick off their 2024-25 season at home against the San Antonio Spurs on October 24th.
