Point guard Jalen Suggs and the Orlando Magic have reached an agreement on a five-year, $150.5 million extension to his initial contract, according to a report from ESPN on Monday.

The 23-year-old Suggs, who inked a four-year, $30 million deal in 2021 and is set to earn $9.1 million this season, was selected to the NBA All-Defensive second team last year.

In the previous season, he averaged 12.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.4 steals, and 27.0 minutes in 75 regular-season games, all of which he started. Suggs also had a career-high 39.7 percent shooting percentage from beyond the arc.

During the playoffs, Suggs posted 14.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and 33.1 minutes in seven games.

The Magic drafted him fifth overall in the 2021 NBA Draft from Gonzaga. In 176 games, 139 of which he started, he has averaged 11.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.3 steals, and 26.0 minutes.
