Anthony Davis, Lakers' center, exits Warriors matchup due to ankle injury
The Los Angeles Lakers' star center Anthony Davis left a meeting with the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday after injuring his ankle in the first quarter.
Davis was simply walking in the lane when he twisted his left foot near the restricted area. He was substituted out of the game at the 4:48 mark of the first quarter and did not return to the court in the second quarter.
The Lakers went into halftime with a 55-52 lead, with Davis contributing two rebounds and a steal in seven minutes of play in the first half. However, Davis was unable to score, missing all three of his field-goal attempts.
Before Wednesday, the 31-year-old Davis had been recording impressive stats, averaging 26.6 points, 11.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.3 steals, and 2.2 blocks in 28 games (all starts) this season.
