According to ESPN, the Cleveland Cavaliers are bringing back free agent center Tristan Thompson on a one-year contract.

Last season, Thompson, who is 33 years old, posted averages of 3.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 11.2 minutes in 49 games coming off the bench for Cleveland.

The majority of Thompson's 13-year career has been spent with the Cavaliers (2011-2020, 2023-2024), who selected him fourth overall in the 2011 NBA Draft from the University of Texas.

Throughout his career, Thompson has put up averages of 8.7 points and 8.1 rebounds in 779 games (478 starts) with the Cavaliers, Boston Celtics (2020-2021), Sacramento Kings (2021-2022), Indiana Pacers (2022), and Chicago Bulls (2022).

He was named to the All-Rookie second team in 2011-2012 and played a key role in the Cavaliers' NBA championship victory in 2015-2016. Thompson currently ranks third in Cleveland's history in rebounds (5,567) and fifth in blocks (461).
