"Twins Reinstate All-Star Shortstop Carlos Correa from Injured List"
The Minnesota Twins activated All-Star shortstop Carlos Correa from the 10-day disabled list on Saturday.
Correa has been absent for 51 games since the All-Star break due to right plantar fasciitis. He is expected to participate in Saturday\'s match against the Cincinnati Reds in Minneapolis.
Correa, who will turn 30 on Sept. 22, has a .308 batting average with 13 home runs, 47 RBIs and 51 runs in 75 games this season. Despite being selected for his third All-Star Game this year, he was unable to play due to the foot injury.
Correa has been a member of the Twins for three seasons after spending seven with the Houston Astros. In 1,098 games, he has a career average of .275 with 186 homers and 665 RBIs.
In addition, the Twins sent outfielder DaShawn Keirsey Jr. to Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday.
Keirsey, 27, had a 1-for-10 record in four games during his major league debut on Sept. 5.
