Tigers and reliever Tommy Kahnle come to an agreement

The Detroit Tigers are close to finalizing a contract with experienced reliever Tommy Kahnle, according to a report from MLB Network on Wednesday.

The 35-year-old right-hander recorded a 2.11 ERA in 50 games for the New York Yankees last year.

Kahnle has a record of 10-14 with eight saves and a 3.47 ERA in 390 appearances (with no starts) for the Colorado Rockies (2014-15), Chicago White Sox (2016-17), Yankees (2017-20, 2023-24) and Los Angeles Dodgers (2022).

He has accumulated 452 strikeouts in 373 2/3 innings pitched.
