The Mets of New York will include experienced second baseman/outfielder Jeff McNeil on their roster for the National League Championship Series.

McNeil, who has not played since September 6 due to a wrist fracture, has been added to the Mets' NLCS roster as they prepare for their first game against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday.

During a game against the Cincinnati Reds, McNeil was struck by a pitch on his right wrist and was subsequently placed on the injured list.

Despite McNeil's absence, the Mets managed to make a surprising run to the playoffs, defeating the Milwaukee Brewers in the wild-card round and eliminating their rival, the Philadelphia Phillies, in the NL Division Series.

In the regular season, McNeil, who is 32 years old, had a batting average of .238 in 129 games, hitting 12 home runs, 26 doubles, and 44 RBIs. He recently completed a rehab stint by playing two games in the Arizona Fall League.

The Mets have also chosen to include rookie Luisangel Acuna as a backup infielder, while leaving out right-handed reliever Adam Ottavino. They have opted to have 14 position players and 12 pitchers on their roster.
