Jeimer Candelario, Reds' 1B/3B, Sidelined with Broken Big Toe
The Cincinnati Reds have placed Jeimer Candelario on the 10-day disabled list on Tuesday due to a fractured left big toe.
In his first season with the Reds, the 30-year-old has a batting average of .225 with 20 home runs, 23 doubles, and 56 runs batted in over 112 games.
Candelario has played 53 games at third base, 32 as a designated hitter, and 26 at first base this season.
During Sunday's game against the Kansas City Royals, Candelario was hit in the foot by a pitch, but still managed to play in Monday's victory against the Toronto Blue Jays.
To fill Candelario's spot on the roster, the Reds have added infielder Amed Rosario.
The 28-year-old was acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday and has a combined batting average of .305 with two home runs, 28 RBIs, and 10 stolen bases in 81 games this season with the Tampa Bay Rays and Dodgers.
