Gavin Stone, a pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, recently underwent surgery on his shoulder and will likely be out for the entire 2025 season.

The 25-year-old Stone joined the Dodgers' rotation this season due to multiple injuries on the team. Despite only having eight appearances in 2023, Stone proved himself as a rookie in 2024, finishing with an 11-5 record and a 3.53 ERA in 25 starts.

His most recent game was on August 31st against the Arizona Diamondbacks, where he pitched five innings and allowed five runs, tying his season high.

Since being drafted in the fifth round in 2020, Stone has played two seasons with the Dodgers, recording a 12-6 record and a 4.52 ERA in 33 appearances, 29 of which were starts.

The Dodgers were scheduled to face the New York Mets in the National League Championship Series on Sunday, with Jack Flaherty as their starting pitcher. However, due to ongoing injuries, the team has not yet announced a pitcher for Game 2. Manager Dave Roberts is considering either Walker Buehler or a bullpen game.
