Starting first baseman for the Dodgers, Freddie Freeman, will be playing in the crucial Game 5 against the San Diego Padres in the National League Division Series on Friday.

Freeman's right ankle, which was injured, was heavily taped during his pregame warmups at Dodger Stadium.

Manager Dave Roberts stated that Freeman's condition would be closely monitored until the start of the game.

\"Right now he's in the starting lineup,\" Roberts said. \"I have confidence in him being there. He will still go through his usual routine. If he is unable to play, we will make adjustments accordingly.\"

Freeman was unable to play in Game 4 due to his right ankle injury, which he initially sustained on September 26. He attempted to play in Wednesday's game but was ultimately removed from the lineup.

The 35-year-old also left Game 2 after five innings.

In the three postseason games he has played in, Freeman, an eight-time All-Star, has a batting average of .273 (3-for-11).

As expected, shortstop Miguel Rojas (adductor) will not be playing in his second consecutive game. He aggravated his injury while running the bases in Tuesday's Game 3. Rojas, who is 35 years old, has a batting average of 2-for-8 in the series.
