"Cubs halt Padres' flawless home record in MLB recap"
Nico Hoerner hit a triple to bring in the go-ahead run in the 10th inning on Tuesday, giving the Chicago Cubs a 2-1 victory and handing the San Diego Padres their first home loss of the season.
With Dansby Swanson on second base as the automatic runner, Hoerner smashed a 2-0 fastball from Yuki Matsui (0-1) into the right-center gap, easily scoring Swanson. This completed a three-hit game for Hoerner.
Ryan Pressly (1-1) earned the win with a perfect ninth inning and Caleb Thielbar notched his first save, retiring Luis Arraez on a fly ball to left with runners on the corners and two outs in the bottom of the 10th.
This outcome ended the Padres' 11-game winning streak at Petco Park to start the season. San Diego had also carried a 15-game home winning streak into the game, dating back to last year.
Red Sox 7, Rays 4
Alex Bregman had a five-hit game, including two home runs, and drove in four runs to lead the Boston Red Sox to a victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.
The Red Sox also got a two-run homer from Jarren Duran, who also walked twice and scored twice. Starting pitcher Walker Buehler (2-1) allowed two runs on three hits in five innings. Aroldis Chapman struck out the only batter he faced to earn his fourth save.
Jonathan Aranda, who homered, and Jake Mangum each had two of the Rays' seven hits. Ryan Pepiot (1-2) pitched six innings and gave up six runs on nine hits.
Dodgers 6, Rockies 2
Will Smith hit a three-run home run in a four-run third inning and Tommy Edman had four hits as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies during the annual Jackie Robinson Day celebration.
Chris Taylor added an RBI single in the third inning for the Dodgers, and Freddie Freeman added an RBI single in the eighth. Starting pitcher Landon Knack lasted 4 1/3 innings, giving up two runs on four hits. Rookie Jack Dreyer (2-0) struck out four batters in 1 2/3 innings to earn the win.
Jacob Stallings hit a two-run double for the Rockies, who have now lost five games in a row. During this losing streak, Colorado has only scored five total runs. Ryan Feltner (0-1) gave up five runs on five hits and walked six batters in 2 2/3 innings.

Quinn Priester and four relievers combined for a one-hitter and Rhys Hoskins hit his first home run of the season as the Milwaukee Brewers ended a three-game skid with a win over the Detroit Tigers.
Priester (1-0), who was acquired from the Boston Red Sox earlier this month, allowed just three walks over five hitless innings before Gleyber Torres hit a leadoff double in the sixth.
Tigers starting pitcher Jack Flaherty (1-1) gave up three runs on five hits in 4 2/3 innings.
Twins 6, Mets 3
Brooks Lee hit a home run, Ryan Jeffers went 3-for-3 with two doubles, and the Minnesota Twins held on to beat the New York Mets in Minneapolis.
Harrison Bader added three hits, a stolen base, and an RBI for Minnesota. Byron Buxton had two hits, two runs, and a stolen base. Starting pitcher Bailey Ober (1-1) allowed three runs on five hits in 6 1/3 innings.
Pete Alonso and Juan Soto each hit a solo home run for the Mets. Jesse Winker also drove in a run for New York, who lost for only the third time in their past 12 games. Tylor Megill (2-2) gave up four runs (two earned) on eight hits in five innings.
