The Baltimore Orioles put outfielder Colton Cowser on the 10-day disabled list on Monday due to a fractured left thumb.
Cowser, who is 25 years old, sustained the injury while sliding back into first base during the team's 3-1 defeat against Toronto on Sunday.
In a corresponding move, the Orioles called up outfielder Dylan Carlson from Triple-A Norfolk.
During the first four-game series of the season against the Blue Jays, Cowser had a batting average of 2-for-16 with one home run, one RBI, and six strikeouts.
He was the runner-up for the American League Rookie of the Year award in 2024 and was selected as the fifth overall pick in the 2021 draft.
