Brewers obtain right-handed pitcher Quinn Priester from Red Sox
The Milwaukee Brewers have acquired right-hander Quinn Priester from the Boston Red Sox on Monday in exchange for a package that includes a competitive balance Round A draft pick.
Also included in the deal is outfielder Yophery Rodriguez, who will be joining the Red Sox, along with either a player to be named later or cash considerations.
To make room on their 40-man roster, the Brewers have designated left-hander Grant Wolfram for assignment.
Priester, who was selected in the first round of the 2019 MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates, began the season at Triple-A Worcester. He has a record of 6-9 and an ERA of 6.23 in 21 career games (15 starts) with the Pirates (2023-24) and Red Sox (2024).
At just 19 years old, Rodriguez is off to a strong start this season with a .417 batting average and three runs in three games at High-A Wisconsin. He is currently ranked as the No. 7 prospect in the Milwaukee farm system by MLB Pipeline.
