According to The Athletic, the Houston Astros will not re-sign third-base coach Gary Pettis, who has been a part of the team's seven consecutive appearances in the American League Championship Series.

Pettis has been a member of the coaching staff since 2015 and has worked under managers A.J. Hinch, Dusty Baker, and Joe Espada.

The report states that the Astros do not plan on parting ways with any other coaches unless they accept other positions.

In addition to his role as third-base coach, the 66-year-old Pettis also served as the team's outfielders coach and baserunning coordinator.

Pettis, who played for four teams during his career and won five Gold Glove awards, has previously coached for the Texas Rangers, New York Mets, and Chicago White Sox.
