Angels secure left-handed pitcher Jake Eder from White Sox
The Angels procured pitcher Jake Eder from the White Sox on Monday in return for monetary considerations.
Los Angeles demoted the 26-year-old southpaw to Triple-A Salt Lake.
To create space on the 40-man roster, the Angels designated right-hander Michael Petersen for assignment.
Eder appeared in one game for Chicago in 2024, conceding one run on two hits in two innings of relief against the Angels on Sept. 17. It marked his first appearance in the major leagues.
The White Sox designated Eder for assignment on March 27. They acquired him from the Miami Marlins in an August 2023 trade for third baseman Jake Burger. Miami traded Burger to the Rangers during the 2024 Winter Meetings.
