Thirteen athletes were offered contracts worth $21.05 million for one year by their respective teams, according to multiple reports on Monday. Among them were Juan Soto of the New York Yankees and Teoscar Hernandez of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The New York Mets extended the most qualifying offers, with first baseman Pete Alonso, left-hander Sean Manaea, and right-hander Luis Severino all receiving one.

The remaining players who received one-year deals include:

- RHP Corbin Burnes, Baltimore Orioles

- OF Anthony Santander, Baltimore Orioles

- LHP Max Fried, Atlanta Braves

- SS Willy Adames, Milwaukee Brewers

- 3B Alex Bregman, Houston Astros

- 1B Christian Walker, Arizona Diamondbacks

- RHP Nick Pivetta, Boston Red Sox

- RHP Nick Martinez, Cincinnati Reds

If players are offered qualifying contracts and end up signing with another team, their original team will receive a compensation pick at the end of the first round of the 2025 MLB Draft.

Out of the 13 players, 26-year-old Soto is expected to receive the largest payout on the free agent market, potentially a multi-year deal worth at least $50 million per season. Soto hit 41 home runs and had 109 RBIs in his first season with the Yankees, helping them reach the World Series for the first time since 2009.

Hernandez, 32, joined the Dodgers on a one-year, $23.5 million contract and won the World Series with his new team after hitting 33 home runs and 99 RBIs in the regular season.

Alonso's impressive performance in the postseason and Manaea's strong second half helped the Mets reach the National League Championship Series.

Burnes and Santander played key roles in guiding the Orioles to the third-best record in the American League at 91-71 and a second consecutive postseason berth.

Fried, Adames, and Bregman also helped their teams reach the postseason, although the Braves, Brewers, and Astros were eliminated in the wild-card round. Walker and the Diamondbacks reached the World Series in 2023.
