Bears' Kyle Monangai: Listed as limited
Monangai (hamstring) was a limited participant in practice Friday.
The Bears also listed Monangai as limited Thursday, when they didn't hold a strenuous practice and the report was just an estimate. He at least appears ahead of fellow backup running back Roschon Johnson, who was a non-participant both days due to a calf injury. Monangai, a rookie seventh-round pick, should get some touches off the bench behind D'Andre Swift if he's healthy enough to play Monday night.

Bears' Roschon Johnson: Not practicing yet
Johnson (foot) didn't practice Friday.
Johnson also was listed as a non-participant on Thursday's practice estimate, putting his availability in doubt ahead of Monday's season opener against Minnesota. Fellow backup running back Kyle Monangai is listed as a limited participant this week, while starter D'Andre Swift isn't on the injury report at all. Things are trending toward a busy Monday night for Swift, albeit against a tough Vikings defense that held him to 109 yards on 32 carries (3.4 YPC) in two matchups last year.

Bears' Shemar Turner: On track to play Week 1
Turner (ankle) was not listed on the Bears' estimated injury report Thursday.
Turner was sidelined for most of training camp due to an ankle injury that he suffered in late July. His absence from Thursday's estimated report indicates that he's past the issue, and the rookie second-rounder is in line to make his NFL regular-season debut against the Vikings on Monday. Turner is expected to begin the season in a rotational role at defensive tackle behind starters Grady Jarrett and Gervon Dexter.

Bears' Case Keenum: Past leg injury
Keenum (leg) was absent from the Bears' estimated injury report Thursday.
Keenum missed the Bears' last two preseason games due to a leg injury. His absence from Thursday's injury report indicates that he is past the issue and is on track to serve as the Bears' QB3 behind Caleb Williams and Tyson Bagent for Monday's regular-season opener against the Vikings at Soldier Field.

Bears' Tremaine Edmunds: Fades injury report
Edmunds (undisclosed) was not listed on Thursday's estimated injury report.
The Bears did not hold a practice Thursday, but Edmunds' absence from the practice report indicates that he is past a soft-tissue injury that cropped up during the last few days of training camp. Barring any setbacks, the 2018 first-rounder is poised to be available for Monday's regular-season opener against the Vikings. Edmunds has logged at least 100 total tackles in each of his seven NFL seasons and is an integral part of a linebacker corps that also includes Ruben Hyppolite and T.J. Edwards (hamstring).

Bears' Roschon Johnson: DNP on estimated injury report
Johnson (foot) was listed as a non-participant on Thursday's practice estimate.
Johnson sat out the Bears' entire preseason slate due to a foot injury, and his listed DNP on Thursday may be an ominous sign for his availability Week 1 and potentially beyond that point. He'll have two more opportunities to mix into drills ahead of Monday's game against the Vikings, but even if he's able to suit up, he may remain a distant third for reps out of Chicago's backfield behind D'Andre Swift and rookie seventh-rounder Kyle Monangai (hamstring), the latter of whom was tagged as limited Thursday.

Bears' Kyler Gordon: Not on injury report
Gordon (hamstring) is not listed on Thursday's injury report.
Gordon has fully recovered from the hamstring injury that forced him to miss time early in training camp. He can be considered fully on track to start at slot cornerback during Monday night's regular-season opener at home against the Vikings.

Bears' Kyle Monangai: Limited with hamstring injury
Monangai (hamstring) was listed as limited on Thursday's practice estimate.
Monangai was tagged as limited Thursday after having missed Chicago's preseason finale, while No. 2 running back Roschon Johnson (foot) was a DNP. The statuses of both Monangai and Johnson will need to be monitored heading into Monday night's Week 1 matchup at home against the Vikings, as starter D'Andre Swift currently stands as the Bears' only fully healthy backfield option.

Bears' Jaylon Johnson: Limited Thursday
Johnson (calf/groin) was listed as limited on Thursday's practice estimate.
Johnson was forced to sit out all of training camp and the preseason due to a lingering groin injury, so it's encouraging to see him 'limited' as he works to gain clearance for Week 1. The Pro Bowl cornerback will have two more chances to upgrade his activity level ahead of Monday night's home opener against the Vikings.
