Texans' Blake Fisher: Ready to roll for season opener
Fisher does not have an injury designation ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Rams.
Fisher suffered an ankle injury during the preseason and began the week as a limited participant in practice. However, he engaged in a full session Friday and will be ready to serve as a depth tackle against the Rams.

Texans' Jaylin Noel: Bigger role imminent
Noel is set for a larger role for the Texans on Sunday versus the Rams with Christian Kirk (hamstring) and Braxton Berrios (hamstring) ruled out for the game, Sam Warren of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Both Kirk's duties out of the slot and Berrios' as a punt returner appear as if they'll fall on Noel's shoulders in the latter's pro debut. A rookie third-round pick, Noel racked up an 80-1,194-8 line on 125 targets at Iowa State last season and also turned 13 punt returns into 199 yards (15.3 per), earning Big 12 Co-Special Teams Player of the Year honors in the process. Noel, along with rookie second-rounder Jayden Higgins, will be in the mix for targets from QB C.J. Stroud behind top WR Nico Collins.

Texans' Jayden Higgins: More targets on tap
Higgins is in line for an elevated role in the Texans' passing game Sunday against the Rams after fellow WR Christian Kirk (hamstring) was ruled out for that contest.
Higgins isn't a candidate to take on Kirk's role in the slot, as fellow rookie Jaylin Noel should handle most of those duties, but targets have opened up a bit behind top option Nico Collins. In three appearances this preseason, Higgins recorded a modest 5-40-0 line on seven targets. However, the 2025 second-round pick is coming off a final season at Iowa State in which he averaged 13.6 yards per catch and 8.6 yards per target, so he could make a bigger impact if he's deployed on routes further down the field.

Texans' Braxton Berrios: Out for Week 1
Berrios (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Rams.
According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston, there's optimism from the team Berrios will be able to return relatively soon. With both Berrios and Christian Kirk (hamstring) out for Week 1, the Texans are expected to lean on Nico Collins and rookies Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel against the Rams. Veteran Justin Watson is also in line for an increased offensive role.

Texans' Christian Kirk: Ruled out this week
Kirk (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's season opener versus the Rams.
After missing practice this week, Kirk was trending in the wrong direction. Now that Kirk's Week 1 status has been confirmed, rookie WRs Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel are in a position to see added opportunities this weekend behind top target Nico Collins, with Xavier Hutchinson and Justin Watson also on hand. Looking ahead, Kirk's Week 2 availability remains cloudy, with DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com having previously suggested that it could be a two-week injury for the 28-year-old, while noting that the Texans figure to proceed with caution with the wideout at this stage of the season.

Texans' Cam Robinson: Back to full practice
Robinson (illness) returned to practice Thursday as a full participant.
Robinson was idle Wednesday. The veteran tackle signed with the Texans back in March but lost the starting left tackle job to second-round rookie Aireontae Ersery.

Texans' Jaylin Noel: Could play more early with WRs hurt
Noel could see an expanded opportunity Sunday against the Rams, as both Christian Kirk and Braxton Berrios are dealing with hamstring injuries, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Noel could work in the slot if Kirk sits out, while fellow Iowa State rookie Jayden Higgins starts on the outside opposite Nico Collins. If Berrios doesn't play, Noel could also add punt return responsibilities to his ledger. Per Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston, Kirk is expected to miss 1-2 weeks as a result of his hamstring injury.

Texans' Christian Kirk: Could sit Week 1
Kirk is dealing with a strained hamstring that is expected to sideline him for at least Sunday's season opener versus the Rams, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Official confirmation of Kirk's status will arrive when the Texans post their injury report Friday, but Schefter suggests that the wideout could miss time beyond this weekend, with one source estimating that his hamstring strain could be a two-week injury. In such a scenario, rookie wideouts Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel as well as Xavier Hutchinson would be in line for added opportunities behind top target Nico Collins.

Texans' Braxton Berrios: Second straight DNP on Thursday
Berrios (hamstring) isn't practicing Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Berrios and Christian Kirk have both sat out consecutive practices due to hamstring injuries, putting their availability in jeopardy for Sunday's regular-season opener against the Rams. Rookies Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel could be on track to operate in three-receiver sets alongside Nico Collins, and Noel could also get a chance to return punts if Berrios sits out.

Texans' Christian Kirk: Not seen at practice Thursday
Kirk (hamstring) wasn't spotted during the media-access portion of practice Thursday, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.
After being held out of practice Wednesday, per Bien-Aime, Kirk wasn't present at the start of Thursday's session, which sets the stage for what he does Friday (if anything) to loom large in terms of his chances to play Sunday against the Rams. If Kirk ends up sidelined this weekend, added opportunities behind Nico Collins would be available for rookie WRs Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel, as well as Xavier Hutchinson.
