Ricard has been sidelined for weeks with the calf injury. Without a fullback at their disposal, the Ravens could use more two-tight end and three-wide receiver sets against Buffalo.

Ravens' Isaiah Likely: Won't play Sunday night
Likely (foot) has been ruled out for Sunday night's season opener against the Bills.
Likely didn't practice this week, so it's not a surprise that he'll be sidelined Sunday. As for the tight end's status beyond Week 1, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com noted that Likely was running on a side field Friday, which is a positive sign relative to his chances of returning in the next couple of weeks. As long as Likely remains sidelined, however, fellow TE Mark Andrews figures to be busy, with Charlie Kolar also mixing in at the position.

Ravens' Isaiah Likely: Still not practicing
Likely (foot) isn't practicing Friday, Jonas Shaffer of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
That said, Shaffer notes that Likely appears to be ramping things up, with the tight end spotted doing some on-field work Friday with trainers that included light running but not much hard cutting. Look for Likely to be ruled out for Week 1 action later Friday, but in that scenario the tight end's absence may not linger too long beyond the Ravens' regular-season opener against the Bills.

Ravens' Jaire Alexander: Upgrades to full participation
Alexander (knee) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Jonas Shaffer of the Baltimore Banner reports.
Alexander was sidelined by a knee injury from Aug. 9 until Wednesday, when he practiced in a limited capacity. It's a great sign for the veteran cornerback that he managed to shed those limitations the next day. Alexander's poised to make his Ravens debut in primetime against the Bills on SNF.

Ravens' Patrick Ricard: Hasn't practiced since mid-August
Ricard (calf) isn't practicing Thursday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Ricard hasn't practiced since Aug. 14. The five-time Pro Bowl fullback is unlikely to recover in time to play against the Bills in Week 1 on Sunday Night Football.

Ravens' Isaiah Likely: Sitting out another practice
Likely (foot) isn't participating in Thursday's practice, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Likely hasn't been able to practice in any fashion since undergoing surgery on his left foot Aug. 1, and while the Ravens have yet to officially rule him out for Week 1, the 25-year-old looks like a longshot to be available. With Likely expected to be inactive for Sunday's season opener in Buffalo, Charlie Kolar should be in line to see an enhanced role behind No. 1 tight end Mark Andrews.
