Dolphins' Ashtyn Davis: Playing in Week 1
Davis (ankle) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's contest against the Colts, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
Davis upgraded to full practice participation Friday after beginning the week with back-to-back limited sessions, confirming that he's moved past his ankle issue in time to play in Week 1. The first-year Dolphin is expected to start at strong safety in 2025 after posting 35 total tackles and two interceptions with the Jets in 2024.

Dolphins' Dee Eskridge: Questionable for Sunday
Eskridge (concussion) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Colts, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
After beginning Miami's week of practice with consecutive limited sessions, Eskridge was a full participant Friday, suggesting he's trending in the right direction ahead of Sunday. However, the 28-year-old still needs to clear concussion protocol in order to play in Week 1. If he's unable to do so, Tahj Washington could see a bump in snaps as a reserve wideout.

Dolphins' James Daniels: Could play in Week 1
Daniels (ankle) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Colts, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
Daniels downgraded from limited practice participation Thursday to a DNP on Friday, so it appears he's trending in the wrong direction ahead of Miami's regular-season opener. If the veteran offensive lineman is unable to suit up Sunday, Kion Smith is expected to step in and start at right guard.

Dolphins' Ethan Bonner: Sidelined for Week 1
Bonner (hamstring) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Colts, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
Bonner's absence Sunday comes as no surprise, as the 25-year-old didn't practice all week due to a hamstring injury. The Stanford product picked up this injury in mid-August and it's unclear when he'll return to practice. While Bonner remains sidelined, JuJu Brents will likely see increased snaps as one of Miami's top reserve outside cornerbacks.

Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Set to suit up Week 1
Hill (oblique/calf) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game at Indianapolis, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
After being diagnosed with an oblique injury in early August, Hill missed most practices and Miami's entire preseason slate in the meantime, but he got back on the field last Thursday and then followed an LP/LP/FP practice regimen during Week 1 prep, paving the way for him to be available to the offense Sunday. He's coming off a down campaign for him, having put up 81 catches (on 123 targets) for 959 yards and six touchdowns in 17 regular-season games in 2024.

Dolphins' De'Von Achane: Cleared for Week 1
Achane (calf) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Colts, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
Achane participated without limitations in practice Friday and avoided a Week 1 injury designation after limited sessions Wednesday and Thursday. He'll be backed up by rookie sixth-round pick Ollie Gordon against the Colts, as fellow running back Jaylen Wright (knee) was ruled out Friday. Gordon could be better suited for short-yardage work, but the speedy Achane should get the majority of touches in Miami's backfield.

Dolphins' Jaylen Wright: Won't play in Week 1
Wright (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's season opener against the Colts, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
Per Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com, coach Mike McDaniel revealed Aug. 28 that Wright had a "small procedure" done to address a lower leg injury, with the Dolphins' official injury report subsequently having clarified that the 2024 fourth-rounder is dealing with a knee issue. In any case, Wright will be sidelined this weekend, at a minimum, while the Dolphins haven't yet outlined a timetable for when the running back might return to practice. In Wright's absence, Ollie Gordon is slated to handle complementary snaps behind De'Von Achane (calf), with JaMycal Hasty and Jeff Wilson candidates to be elevated from Miami's practice squad ahead of Week 1 action.

Dolphins' Darren Waller: Won't play Sunday
Waller (hip) has been ruled out for Sunday's season opener against the Colts, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
Per Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com, Waller suffered a hip strain this week, and the injury setback will be enough to sideline the tight end Week 1. In Waller's absence versus Indianapolis, fellow TEs Julian Hill and Tanner Conner are in line for added opportunities, while Greg Dulcich and Hayden Rucci are potential practice-squad elevations.

Dolphins' De'Von Achane: On track to face Colts
Coach Mike McDaniel said Friday that Achane (calf) is "absolutely" on track to play in Sunday's season opener against the Colts, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
That aligns with Achane's previous assertion that he feels 100 percent healthy and that his recent practice limitations were precautionary. Friday's final injury report will reveal whether the running back carries a Week 1 injury designation, but at this stage it looks like he'll be available to lead Miami's backfield this weekend.

Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: On track for Sunday
Coach Mike McDaniel noted Friday that Hill (oblique) is "absolutely" on track to play Sunday against the Colts, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
The same applies to RB De'Von Achane (calf), with both players having been limited at practice Wednesday and Thursday. Friday's final injury report will reveal whether Hill heads into the weekend with an injury designation or fully cleared for Week 1 action.

Dolphins' Darren Waller: Injury setback clouds Week 1 status
Coach Mike McDaniel revealed Friday that Waller (hip) suffered a setback before Thursday's practice, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
As a result, Waller didn't take part in Thursday's session, and at this stage, McDaniel said he doesn't believe the tight end will play Sunday against the Colts, a notion that could be confirmed when Friday's final Week 1 injury report is posted. If Waller is ruled out, Julian Hill and Tanner Conner would be next up for Miami's tight end reps this weekend.

Dolphins' De'Von Achane: Limited in practice Thursday
Achane (calf) was limited in practice Thursday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Achane has now officially been limited in back-to-back practices, though he said Wednesday that he feels 100 percent healthy and that the recent cap on his reps has simply been an effort not to aggravate his calf injury. The third-year pro appears on track to suit up for Sunday's regular-season opener against the Colts, though Furones reports that the Dolphins may opt to lean on big-bodied rookie Ollie Gordon in Week 1, and relegate the undersized Achane to a smaller workload than usual as he works to return from injury. Coach Mike McDaniel declined to offer an estimation of how the Dolphins' backfield reps will be divvied up Week 1, but whether or not Achane is able to upgrade to full participation at Friday's practice could be telling.

Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Limited again Thursday
Hill (oblique) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel has stated that he expects Hill to suit up Week 1, but the veteran wideout will only have one more chance to upgrade to full participation ahead of Sunday's road matchup against the Colts. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa said Wednesday he and Hill are "good" entering Week 1, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN, downplaying offseason concerns about their relationship by saying "people might've blown it out of proportion." If there was once any tension between the two after Hill pulled himself out of the 2024 regular-season finale early, Tagovailoa said "we've worked on it, and I think that conversation is dead now."

Dolphins' Darren Waller: Officially misses practice Thursday
Waller (hip) did not practice Thursday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said Waller's absence from practice Wednesday was merely part of a planned schedule, as he hadn't practice three consecutive days since his return from retirement, and that the veteran tight end would be back on the field Thursday. It's thus possible that his current 'DNP' status represents a setback of some sort, especially given that Waller is being listed with a hip injury. Miami said throughout the preseason that a cautious approach was being deployed simply for conditioning purposes. Friday's practice represents Waller's last chance to get some on-field work in before the Dolphins decide whether he'll carry an injury designation for Week 1, and at this stage he appears uncertain for Sunday's road opener against Indianapolis.
