Rangers' Dustin Harris: Back in majors
The Rangers selected Harris' contract from Triple-A Round Rock on Friday, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
The 26-year-old will return to the active roster to replenish the Rangers' outfield depth following Adolis Garcia's (quad) move to the injured list. Harris slashed .200/.263/.343 with an RBI and four runs scored across 38 plate appearances while with the big club earlier in the year, but he owns an .845 OPS since being sent down to Triple-A. He's likely ticketed for a bench role while in Arlington.

Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Lands on injured list
The Rangers placed Garcia on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to Tuesday. Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
The Rangers will move Garcia to the injured list to give him the time he needs to recover after missing the team's last three games with a strained right quad. Manager Bruce Bochy said Friday that he's optimistic the 32-year-old outfielder will be able to return after a minimum-length stay, per Wilson, which would allow Garcia to come back next Friday and play out the final few weeks of the regular season. In the meantime, Dustin Harris will come up from Triple-A Round Rock to fill the open roster spot.

Rangers' Jon Gray: Out for season
The Rangers transferred Gray (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Friday, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
A shoulder injury sent Gray to the injured list in mid-August, and now that he's on the 60-day IL, he will have to wait until 2026 to take the mound again. The 33-year-old will finish the year with 12 earned runs allowed across just 14 innings out of the bullpen alongside a 12:6 K:BB. He is due to become a free agent this offseason.

Rangers' Adolis Garcia: On bench Friday
Garcia (quadriceps) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Houston.
Garcia will be out of the lineup for a third straight game due to a right quadriceps strain despite a team day off Thursday. The 32-year-old's absence has allowed for Alejandro Osuna and Ezequiel Duran to share right field duties, with Duran drawing the start Friday. Bruce Bochy said Tuesday that the Rangers are optimistic that Garcia will avoid an IL stint.

Rangers' Leandro Lopez: Latest breakout Rangers SP prospect
Lopez has a 3.45 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 37:13 K:BB in 28.2 innings across eight appearances for Double-A Frisco.
The 23-year-old righty was promoted from High-A Hub City to Frisco on July 20 and has totaled a career-high 94.1 innings across the two levels. Lopez has a sturdy 6-foot-1, 200-pound frame and boasts a plus slider and above-average curveball. He throws a four-seamer and two-seamer in the low-to-mid 90s and has generated groundballs at a 50.5 percent clip this season. Lopez may be added to the 40-man roster this offseason to protect him from the Rule 5 draft.

Rangers' Tyler Mahle: Felt fine following rehab outing
Texas manager Bruce Bochy said Wednesday that Mahle (shoulder) "felt fine" after Tuesday's rehab outing, MLB.com reports.
Mahle was knocked around for five runs on five hits and a walk and reached his pitch limit before retiring a batter in the second inning. The Rangers had hoped Mahle could rejoin the pitching staff following the outing, but the manager is awaiting additional information before making any further determination on next steps for the right-hander.

Rangers' Cole Winn: Returns from IL
The Rangers activated Winn (hand) from the 15-day injured list Thursday.
Winn missed the last couple weeks with nerve irritation in his right hand, but he's ready to go following a brief rehab assignment. The right-hander has authored a 1.45 ERA and 26:15 K:BB over 31 innings covering 25 relief appearances for the Rangers in 2025.

Rangers' Danny Coulombe: Placed on injured list
The Rangers placed Coulombe on the 15-day injured list Thursday with left shoulder fatigue, retroactive to Monday.
Coulombe hasn't made an appearance out of the bullpen since giving up three earned runs in just one-third of an inning Aug. 26, and his shoulder injury provides some clarity to the situation. He'll remain on the sidelines until at least Sept. 16, and the Rangers will return Cole Winn (hand) from the IL to claim the open bullpen spot.

Rangers' Jack Leiter: Quality start wasted Wednesday
Leiter (9-8) took the loss Wednesday as the Rangers were downed 2-0 by the Diamondbacks, giving up two runs on three hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out eight.
The 25-year-old right-hander delivered his third straight quality start, and eighth of the season, on 99 pitches (64 strikes), but Leiter got no run support from the Texas offense. In nine outings since the All-Star break, Leiter has posted a 2.66 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 57:24 K:BB over 47.1 innings as he establishes himself as a key part of the team's rotation plans for the present and future. Leiter is scheduled to make his next start at home early next week against the Brewers.

Rangers' Abimelec Ortiz: Power, Ks at Triple-A
Ortiz is slashing .269/.370/.538 with six home runs and a 28.3 percent strikeout rate in 23 games for Triple-A Round Rock.
The lefty slugger's production has been 20 percent better than the average Pacific Coast League hitter in his first taste of the highest level of the minors. Ortiz, 23, repeated Double-A this year and slashed .247/.343/.444 with 16 home runs and a 22.3 percent strikeout rate in 89 games for Frisco before getting promoted to the Express on Aug. 5. He has started seven games in right field and 15 games at first base since getting to Triple-A. Texas will need to add Ortiz to the 40-man roster this offseason or leave him exposed to the Rule 5 draft.

Rangers' Michael Helman: Gaining traction in center field
Helman will start in center field and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.
With Wyatt Langford recently shifting over to left field after super-utility man Josh Smith was moved back to the middle infield in the wake of Marcus Semien (foot) and Corey Seager (appendectomy) landing on the shelf, center field has been opened up for Helman. The 29-year-old will be occupying center for the sixth game in a row Tuesday after going 5-for-18 with three extra-base hits, three walks, one stolen base, four RBI and five runs over the previous five contests.

Rangers' Cody Freeman: Claiming third straight start
Freeman will start at second base and bat sixth Wednesday against the Diamondbacks.
Freeman will draw his third consecutive start at the keystone and appears to have at least temporarily emerged as the Rangers' preferred option at the position over Ezequiel Duran, with Josh Smith having shifted over from second base to cover shortstop in the absence of Corey Seager (appendectomy). Since being recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on Aug. 17, Freeman is slashing .250/.282/.444 with two home runs, one double, two walks, six RBI and five runs over 12 games.

Rangers' Josh Jung: Resting up Wednesday
Jung is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Ezequiel Duran will fill in at third base while Jung receives a breather for the day game. Jung had started in each of the Rangers' last 11 contests, slashing .400/.413/.622 with two home runs, nine runs and eight RBI during that span.

Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Remaining on bench Wednesday
Garcia (quadriceps) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Alejandro Osuna will draw the start in right field while Garcia sits for the second straight day as he continues to manage a Grade 2 right quad strain. According to MLB.com, manager Bruce Bochy said Tuesday that he expects Garcia to be out for a few more days, but the Rangers are optimistic that the veteran outfielder will avoid a stint on the injured list.

Rangers' Rowdy Tellez: Hitting bench vs. righty
Tellez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Since receiving a promotion from Triple-A Round Rock on July 18, Tellez has operated as the Rangers' preferred first baseman against right-handed pitching, but his hold on a strong-side platoon role could be loosening. Over his last 10 games, Tellez has cobbled together a middling .172/.250/.379 slash line. Even with righty Zac Gallen on the bump for Arizona, Tellez will give way to the right-handed-hitting Jake Burger at first base.

Rangers' Alejandro Osuna: Fills in at right field
Osuna started in right field and went 2-for-2 with an RBI in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.
Osuna filled in for injured right fielder Adolis Garcia (quadriceps). Texas manager Bruce Bochy said Garcia will be down for a few days, per MLB.com. The lefty hitting Osuna started against a righty and could get another start Wednesday against right-hander Zac Gallen.

Rangers' Cole Winn: Authors scoreless outing
Winn (hand) retired all three batters faced while pitching for Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Winn looked sharp in what was his first game action since landing on the 15-day injured list Aug. 20 with nerve irritation in his thumb -- an issue that was eventually classified as "arm fatigue." The right-hander needed 17 pitches (11 strikes) to set down the three opposing batters. Winn could rejoin the bullpen as early as this weekend when the Rangers open a three-game series against the Astros on Friday.

Rangers' Tyler Mahle: Done after three outs
Mahle (shoulder) allowed five runs on five hits and one walk while striking out one over one-plus innings for Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday.
Mahle reached his pitch count before getting anyone out in the second inning after throwing 36 pitches (23 strikes) in an outing that was planned to go two full innings. He retired the first two batters faced before allowing three consecutive hits and two runs in the first inning. The right-hander came back out for the second inning and gave up a three-run home run. The Rangers had hoped Mahle could rejoin the pitching staff after one rehab outing, per Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News, who noted Mahle's velocity across all pitches was down about one mph for the night compared to his season averages. The team's decision-makers may want to reconsider the pitcher's next step.
