"LIV Implements Wardrobe Policy Change: The Brief Version"

"Revamping Wardrobe Rules: LIV Implements Shorter Style"

When the fourth edition of LIV Golf commenced on Thursday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, there was a noticeable alteration to the league's typically relaxed appearance.

Despite the desert's scorching temperatures, the players were not sporting shorts.

During the league's podcast, "Fairway to Heaven," former player turned broadcaster Pat Perez disclosed that shorts would no longer be permitted.

Perez stated, "The players will be wearing trousers throughout the year. I was informed the other day that shorts are not allowed."

No explanation was given for this change.

Although the PGA Tour has never allowed shorts as part of its dress code, the regulations were more lenient when the competing league was established in 2022.

This week's season opener in Riyadh marks the beginning of the regular season, which consists of 13 events before the team championship this autumn.
