"Ohio State's Announcement: Brian Hartline Elevated to Offensive Coordinator"

"Announcement: Ohio State Elevating Brian Hartline to Offensive Coordinator"

Ohio State is elevating wide receivers coach Brian Hartline to the position of offensive coordinator, according to a report from On3 on Wednesday.

Hartline will be taking over for Chip Kelly, who departed the Buckeyes after just one season to become the offensive coordinator for the Las Vegas Raiders over the weekend.

The report does not specify if Hartline or head coach Ryan Day will be the primary play-caller for the offense in 2025. Hartline previously served as the offensive coordinator during the 2023 season, but Day handled the play-calling duties.

Hartline has been a member of the Ohio State coaching staff since 2017 and was promoted to the role of wide receivers coach in 2018.

Additionally, Billy Fessler is expected to be promoted from analyst to quarterbacks coach, and the Buckeyes are set to announce Virginia Tech offensive coordinator Tyler Bowen as their new offensive line coach and run game coordinator.

Bowen will be taking over for Justin Frye, who left Ohio State to join the Arizona Cardinals as their offensive line coach.
