Colorado Welcomes Hall of Fame Inductee Marshall Faulk to Coaching Team

Marshall Faulk is set to join head coach Deion Sanders at Colorado, adding to the Buffaloes' coaching staff a total of three members from the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Both Sanders and Faulk were inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2011, with Warren Sapp joining them in 2013.

Sapp currently serves as the Buffaloes' senior quality control analyst for their defense. Faulk, on the other hand, will take on the role of coaching the running backs and will be responsible for improving the team's running game, which ranked 134th in the nation with only 65.1 yards per game.

Faulk brings with him an impressive resume as he steps into his new role as running backs coach at Colorado.

During his college years at San Diego State, he was a first-team All-American on three separate occasions and is now a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.

In the NFL, he was named the league's Most Valuable Player in 2000 and was also a three-time Offensive Player of the Year and a three-time first-team All Pro. As the No. 2 overall pick in the 1994 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts, he went on to win the Super Bowl with the then-St. Louis Rams and their famous "Greatest Show on Turf."

At the age of 51, Faulk played 12 seasons in the NFL and amassed a total of 12,279 rushing yards, 6,875 receiving yards, and 136 total touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Sanders is heading into his third season as head coach at Colorado. The Buffaloes ended their 2024 season with an impressive 9-4 record.
