Announcement: Cal Running Back Jaydn Ott Joins Transfer Portal

Several months after declaring his intention to stay at Cal, running back Jaydn Ott has reportedly entered the transfer portal. This news was reported by multiple media outlets on Monday.

Ott's performance in the 2024 season was hindered by an ankle injury he sustained in the first game, resulting in a significant decline in his stats compared to the previous year.

On December 28, Ott shared a movie clip from "The Wolf of Wall Street" on Twitter, featuring Leonardo DiCaprio's character saying, "I'm not leaving. I'm not (bleeping) leaving!"

In 2023, Ott received All-Pac-12 first-team recognition after leading the conference in rushing yards (1,315) and rushing touchdowns (12) on 245 carries. He also had 196 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 26 receptions.

However, in the last season, Ott's performance declined to 385 yards and four touchdowns on 116 carries. He also made 24 receptions for 222 yards and a touchdown.

Cal has had a record of 6-6 in the past two regular seasons, followed by a loss in a bowl game.

According to On3, Oklahoma is a potential landing spot for Ott, who is listed at 6 feet and 205 pounds.

In addition to Ott, other Cal running backs Kadarius Calloway, Byron Cardwell Jr., and Justin Williams-Thomas have also reportedly entered the transfer portal.
