Auburn and Duke maintain consistency in otherwise volatile Top 25 ranking
Auburn and Duke maintained their positions at the top of the rankings, but there were significant changes throughout the rest of the Associated Press Top 25 poll this week.
Auburn (20-1) held onto the top spot with unanimous support after securing road wins against LSU and Ole Miss. Duke (19-2) also remained in second place with victories over North Carolina State and North Carolina.
Alabama (19-3) moved up one spot to third place after impressive wins in the SEC against Georgia and Mississippi State (16-6), who dropped from No. 14 to No. 22. Missouri (17-4) took advantage of Mississippi State's loss and climbed five spots to No. 15 after defeating them 88-61.
Tennessee (18-4) jumped four spots to No. 4 after a dominant 64-44 win over Florida (18-3), who dropped to sixth place.
Maryland (17-5) returned to the rankings for the first time in almost two years, coming in at No. 18 after a 76-68 win over then-No. 17 Wisconsin (17-5), who fell four spots to No. 21. Other new additions to the rankings this week were No. 20 Arizona (15-6), who earned their first ranking since November with an 11-of-12 winning streak, and No. 24 Michigan (16-5), who had two Big Ten victories.
Illinois (15-7) remained in the rankings but dropped five spots to No. 23 after losing 80-74 in overtime to Nebraska and defeating Ohio State 87-79.
